A publishing group says it will sue the U.S. government over a proposed crackdown on news publishers that the Trump White House says would hurt freedom of expression.
In a court filing Friday, the American Civil Liberties Union and other groups said the proposed rule would hurt the ability of news publishers to “protect and promote” information they are not entitled to by law.
The government has said the new rule would “make it more difficult for journalists to provide accurate and timely news.”
