CNN — The report says President Barack Obama lied about the date of his birth.
CNN has obtained a memo sent to CNN anchor Don Lemon by the White House that is being circulated to reporters.
The document, dated Jan. 14, 2013, says Obama “never changed the date on his birth certificate” and that “as of April 24, 2017, the President remains a citizen of the United States.”
It also says the “birth certificate that President Obama was required to produce at the time of his inauguration was not signed by him as president.”CNN’s Brian Stelter asked Lemon on Monday if the White Senate was aware of the memo and if it contained the president’s sworn testimony.
The document does not say what the Whitehouse was referring to in its report. “
I think we’ve all been treated very unfairly, Brian, and that’s why I’m asking you to stay tuned.”
The document does not say what the Whitehouse was referring to in its report.
It said Obama never “changed the date” on his official birth certificate.
A White House spokesman said in a statement, “As the president has made clear, he did not change the date or place of birth on the birth certificate.”
But Lemon told CNN the WhiteHouse did not make the statement because the document was not in the president`s handwriting and because the President was not required to have a signed birth certificate, which is how the document appears in his official files.
We were not aware that the president did not have the birth certificates signed until we looked at it,” Lemon said.
Lemon also said the White house was trying to undermine the legitimacy of the Obama presidency.”
It`s kind of funny because we know that in the United Kingdom, there`s been a lot of accusations of fraud and fraudulent activity, but I think that we all know that the birth record is the best proof of who is who,” Lemon added.
Obama and his family have denied any wrongdoing in his administration.
